People born of pure Orakian heritage are unable to use techniques. They instead have an increased aptitude for melee combat and vitality. If a person is born with a mixed bloodline, they regain the ability to use spells. The ratio of Orakian to Layan blood, as well as the previous generation's affinity for certain spells, seems to affect which techniques the children of the next generation will inherit. People with a predominantly Orakian heritage do not have as wide a range of spells as someone with a 3/4 Layan bloodline.
