The Vorvanes were a rather prominent Barrayaran Vor family. The Minister for Heavy Industries was Lord Vorvane; he had a wife and three children at the time of Brothers in Arms. The Vorvayne family was related to the Vorvanes, though the split between the branches of the family occurred at least five generations before the time of A Civil Campaign, i.e. during the late Time of Isolation. There was at least one cross-marriage with the Vormoncriefs, as Lieutenant Alexi Vormoncrief claimed a grandmother from the Vorvanes.
