The 1954-22 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds on July 3, 1954. Herb Thomas won the event, holding a one-lap edge on Jimmie Lewallen when all was said and done. Eventual season champ Lee Petty finished 3rd.
