Gabrielle Daye appeared intermittently in Coronation Street as Beattie Pearson, Albert Tatlock's daughter, from January 1961 to May 1984 . Born in Manchester on 2nd October 1911 she died on the 5th January 2005 in Essex. She appeared in several episodes of Emergency-Ward 10, Crown Court and Play for Today, as well as single episodes of Z Cars, Public Eye, All Creatures Great and Small, Survivors, and Juliet Bravo. She also appeared in all three episodes of the 1968 Tony Warren-scripted drama The War of Darkie Pilbeam. Apart from her role in Coronation Street she will be best remembered for her regular role in twenty one episodes of Bless me, Father as the long term sparring partner and house keeper of Father Duddleswell, played by Arthur Lowe.
