Whilst in his office, Eposito discovered that Skates was recording a revealing conversation with his officers, despite being ten stories up. Eposito saved Skates from falling, but pointed a gun at him. He then tied him up in the back of his car and drove him to "someone who knows how to kill with real style". Instead of just dumping Skates' body "with the others", Eposito took Skates to be executed by Roach, not knowing the criminal was Skates' friend. Roach turned on the officers, shooting Eposito first and the other two before they could draw their weapons. Dying, Eposito promised to reveal Mr X's plan if they called for an ambulance. Sure enough, Eposito confessed that a bomb strapped to the boiler of the Princess Grace was due to detonate tonight.
