Dennis Harvey, (Born 1951) has been a Labour member of the Nuneaton and Bedworth borough Council since its inception in 1974 making him the longest serving Councillor and the only original member remaining on the Council. Until recently he was also Leader of the Council, until the local elections in 2008 where the Conservatives gained control, ending 34 years of Labour rule.
