Inkling transforms into a squid and swims forwards. Inkling is easier to launch while in squid form, but must use the side special to fill the ink tank to use neutral and down specials. Using Inkling's side special while standing in ink will allow it to move around quickly and swiftly, as well as refilling its ink tank for use in its special moves. Using the side special when not in ink will result in Inkling being quite vulnerable, but still able to move a bit faster than its kid form. It will also still fill its tank with ink for its special moves even when not swimming in ink, albeit much slower.
