The Irish Civil War is a major conflict between the United Republic of Ireland and the New Ulster Army that is currently taking place in Ireland. The NUA declared war on Ireland at 07:00 on New Year's Eve after Padraic Kelly refused to give Northern Ireland independence from the rest of Ireland. On the same day at about 15:48, the New Ulster Army assassinated the Vice President of the United Republic of Ireland during an ambush in Donegal. This assassination started the Irish Civil War.
