Eldallan was the last Duke of Asturia during the Arendish Civil War, and the father of Queen Mayaserana I, the first Queen of united Arendia. For many years, he was the nemesis of Aldorigen, the Duke of Mimbre, and when Torak and his Angaraks prepared to attack Mimbre in 4875, Eldallan had to be bullied by the sorceress Polgara into aiding the Mimbrates, only agreeing after the sorceress threatened to invoke her previous status as Duchess of Erat to take over all of Arendia and declare herself Empress. Afterwards, Eldallan and his archers were instrumental in slowing down Torak's forces, enabling the Western armies to prevail in the Battle of Vo Mimbre.
