As the player lands, the player must hold the [ASSIST] button ( by default in the PlayStation version) and hold the directional pad towards the rocky cliff. If done correctly, the Highwind will phase through the grassy area onto the rocky area, and the player is free to grab the Quadra Magic Materia.
