The 2005 USG Durock 300 was a Busch Series event held at Chicagoland Speedway on July 9, 2005. Kevin Harvick won the event, holding off Greg Biffle by three-quarters of the second. Oddly, after the event, Biffle hurled some insults about Harvick for no apparent reason, saying Harvick was a "jerk." Regardless, Martin Truex, Jr finished 7th and held a 72-point championship lead on Clint Bowyer (6th).
