Wira is the formerly blind wife of Hugo, whom she met in the Dream Realm. Her parents put her to sleep in the Isle of Illusion. She often greets characters after they have surmounted the three challenges required to gain admittance to Good Magician Humfrey's castle, and appears in this capacity in most Xanth novels following the Question Quest. Wira is the one person Magician Humfrey does not treat like an idiot. Recently was given the ability to see as a gift by the Nimby for helping find his lost son Nimbus.
