Erana Katan was a human female farmer and cargo freighter captain who was made into a slave, she was was born into the rich Koytas family, a family whose tradition was farming on their agricultural homeworld, Liinade III, she followed her family traditions and became a farmer. She bought herself a little cargo freighter so she could travel the galaxy and sell her family produce on other planets and import foreign goods to sell on Liinade III, she bought a GR-493 light freighter which she called the Erana's Heart, after herself, as a starship fan with a considerable amount of money she upgraded the Erana's Heart original Class 3 hyperdrive with a more powerful Class 1 hyperdrive. She thought of her ship as her "daughter" and loved her.
