(Page is under construction) The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the United States (US), America, or simply the States, is a federal republic consisting of 53 states, eight oversea states in South East Asia and Pacific Ocean with an unorganized territory of Guam and a federal district of Washington, D.C. During the Civil War, the United States established a treaty which recognized Confederate States of America as an independent state which was the United Kingdom. France and Spain also signed the treaty along with the United States.
