Richard Wayne Penniman (born 5 December 1932), better known as Little Richard, is an American singer and songwriter from Georgia. He is an influential figure in popular music and culture and has been for more than six decades. Richard most celebrated work dates from the 1950s, when his dynamic music and charismatic showmanship laid the foundation for Rock N Roll.
