Getting little heat from its sun, and the gas giant it revolved around, the entire area of Rosk's single continent was tundra. The eastern quarter of the continent was cut off from the rest of it by the treacherous Black Crystal Mountains. However, Rosk did get enough light and heat for some fungi, plants, and animals to live. Rosk had a unique soil composition, allowing only its unique native plants and fungi to grow in it, including golden-brown grass.
