The GRG121EXS features a poplar body with a bound art grain top bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fretboard with dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Infinity R humbucking pickups and a fixed bridge. Controls consist of only a master volume and a 3-way toggle pickup selector. The GRG121EX is a similar model without the decorative top. The GRG121EXS was discontinued after 2016 and replaced by the GRG121EXSM which has a spalted maple top.
