Although KSAX/KRWF identify as separate stations in their own right, they are considered semi-satellites of sister station KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities. The stations air ten-minute local inserts during KSTP's weeknight newscasts (at 5, 6, and 10), local commercial inserts during commercial breaks, some original local programming, and separate identifications. Otherwise, they simulcast all programming from KSTP. Combined with a large network of translator stations, they serve thirty counties in Central and Western Minnesota.
