The Montreal AAA (Amateur Hockey Association) was a senior team in Montreal. The team was first formed in 1885. It was sometimes known as the Winged Wheelers which was the symbol of its bike team. This name was actually the inspiration for the Detroit Red Wings name. The Wings were owned by a former member of the AAA - Bruce Norris. Montreal AAA actually won the first Stanley Cup in 1892-93. After the war the MCHL was eligible for the Allan Cup. The AAA played for six seasons but never won the title. This time it took a beark for three years from 1924-27.
