Martin Barrimore is an employee of the MCO. He is a Researcher-4, and is very pro-mutant. He accompanies Carlos Jefferson to Whateley Academy to meet with Headmistress Carson and Mrs. Potter. He also gets to meet Amelia Hartford, whom is one of his idols. He is unable to hide his excitement at visiting Whateley, and seeing the sites. He asks Mrs. Carson for her autograph before leaving. His obvious exuberance at being there makes the meeting go better than expected. Jefferson begins to help him with his career on the trip back to New York City.
