A materials analyst was an individual who examined technology and materials to assess the capabilities of its user, and potentially to plan countermeasures against an opposing force. Major Capin Harinar served as a materials analyst in the Alliance Intelligence branch of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, where he studied technology captured from the Galactic Empire in order to assess Imperial capabilities and help plan countermeasures against the regime.
