Originally constructed in the 1930s, 45 of these standard trams were remodelled and introduced back into service in 1995. With upgraded motors, they are able to cope well with the hilly terrain of Lisbon. Many, like this one, carry a pantograph for running at speed and a trolley pole for use in the narrower streets of the city centre.
