He was an officer for the Los Angeles Police Department and was on patrol when he and his partner pulled up to the new house of Carmen Reyes and ordered her son Hurley, who was suspected of being a drug dealer to place his hands behind his head. As he read him his rights, the house which Hurley had purchased burned behind them.
