He was suggested for the role of Sam Tollinger, a major character in the unproduced television story Crime of the Century, which would have formed part of Season 27 of Doctor Who had the classic series not been cancelled in 1989. Tollinger formed the basis for the character of Markus Creevy, who appeared in the audio stories Thin Ice and Crime of the Century in which he was played by Ricky Groves.
