Larstaism was one of the forgotten religions from before the Final Empire. Its central tenets involved supporting monks, so that the monks could paint, sculpt, and compose poetry. It was wiped out by the Lord Ruler before the fourth century. Sazed preached Larstaism to Mare, who chose to believe in it. Mare carried a small drawing of a flower with her all her life, likely in part because of her religious faith.
