Barnes Griffin was an agent for an unspecified Bureau in charge of moving Amaya Heller. He was kidnapped by Mercer's Evolved, and then rescued and consumed by Heller so he could learn his daughter's location. At his time of death, his current assignment was a "Project: Codename Pariah".
