The Imperial Military Hospital was a major hospital complex in Vorbarr Sultana, the capital of Barrayar, that was staffed by military doctors and researchers. One of the buildings in the complex was the biochemistry research facility; the work done there included development of military poisons and antidotes. Before Miles Vorkosigan's time, their work was significantly below Galactic standards, but in later days they were described as being very nearly equal to the Nexus. The main hospital building overlooked the big river that flowed through Vorbarr Sultana.
