In one version or another, the 'Crate' has existed for the last century. The concept is simple: pack as much nonlethal weaponry as possible into a block of durasteel armour, and send it into your enemy's ship. Every JEAF capital ship carries Crates. They are hardened against low-level slicing and EMPs.
