The Honeybee Revolt of 1981, also called Deseret Revolt (Deseret: 𐐐𐐲𐑌𐐨𐐺𐐨/𐐔𐐯𐑅𐐨𐑉𐐯𐐻 𐐡𐐮𐑂𐐬𐑊𐐻) was a revolt which occurred from 6 March to 17 April 1981. It started with the Salt Lake Tribune published an article featuring an alleged law, proposed by President Lawrence Radigan, which would essentially legalize segregation between Mormons and non-Mormons, as well as the abolition of the State of Salt Lake. Upon seeing this, HIM leaders Keith Leeson and Nicodemus Harley organized a protest in Salt Lake City, first peaceful, then degenerated into an armed conflict. Despite Radigan specified that no such law was in the making, Mormon activists in DCD, led by Joseph Messersey, protested in front of the Presidential Mansion.
