The Skies of Fear is the fifth book in the Astrosaurs series and introduces Sprite, the leader of the Sauropod's dimorphodon flight crew, and the security chief, Alass Tikka the ankylosaurus. In it, Teggs and his crew are startled by a loud noise, and Iggy gets Sprite to reveal that it is, in fact, the Long Squawk, an alarm made by Shazz, the kindly High Flapper of Squawk Major. As soon as they arrive at the pterosaur planet, their nyctosaurus pilots drop out of the sky, claiming to have forgotten how to fly! Shazz, in the Palace of Perches, reveals that an epidemic of flightlessness is spreading across her world and no one knows why. A massive, rude, and stinky pterosaur named Grandum arrives and announces that he plans to take part in the Trials that year and become High Flapper himself.
