The Stronghold Portal is an advanced Alimbic teleportation device capable of connecting a point within the physical universe to the extradimensional Stronghold Void. Physically, it resembles a conventional Alimbic-version Portal, although it is much larger and more ornately decorated. Eight are known exist, two within each of the four Alimbic facilities explored during the events of Metroid Prime Hunters. Each unit connects to a large space within the Stronghold Void containing an Octolith and a version of either the Slench or Cretaphid security cyborg. For security reasons, Stronghold Portals remain entirely inanimate unless equipped with three Alimbic Artifacts specific to each unit (always located nearby).
