King Moonracer is the ruler of the Island of Misfit Toys, featured in the Rankin/Bass Christmas television special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. He allowed a reindeer who would become Santa's 9th(see notes), Hermey, and Yukon Cornelius to stay there but insisted they tell Santa about it so the toys that inhabit it can find happy homes. He is a mixture of a lion and a bird, similar to the mythical creature, the Griffin.
