The film is a sequel to Ultraman Cosmos 2: The Blue Planet, and it was released in Japan on August 2, 2003. The film's taglines are "Cosmos died? The two giants clash!" and "35 hours till humanity's extinction...call out your new miracles (Ultraman)!" The film also serves as a double bill with New Century Ultraman Legend 2003: King's Jubilee.
