Each use reduces condition by 2%. Repairing requires 1 scrap metal, restores 25% condition and takes 45 minutes when using simple tools. Can openers are fairly common and can open fifty cans from full condition. Since scrap metal weighs less, it is preferable to scrap duplicate openers.
