Shantak Bay is a bay that sits to the west of the Xian Bay. It is used less frequently than Xian because Ashkyos lying on the Ashen River is but a short way from Xian Bay, whereas no city lies so close to the Shantak Bay on the Shantak River. Also, the Shantak River is a much narrower and faster flowing river than the Ashen, driven it seems by the gods of the Mountains of the Giants from where it finds its source. The Bay is sued, however, by outlying settlements owing their allegiance to Djiretta.
