An all purpose kitchen knife that is used for most types of chopping, dicing, and slicing with a blade that is usually about a foot in length. The heft, weight and balance of this knife allows it to be used for heavy duty work with thicker cuts of vegetables, fruits and meats. This knife may also be referred to as a French knife.
