The only known weresmilidon is a hybrid, whose mother was part werewolf and whose father was part weretiger at the time of her conception. This resulted in the two species mixing and producing a new, hybridic third. It is unknown whether weresmilidons could exist otherwise, although her children could inherit the species from her. Similarly to with her parents' species, she couldn't shift into her wereform until she'd passed puberty. However, she didn't need any particular known trigger. This may have been caused by the fact that her mother's trigger would have been anger whilst her father's was happiness, two emotions which rarely can occur simultaneously.
