Yazen (蛇禅, Yazen) is a Tokubetsu Jōnin who hailed from Otogakure as a pioneer of its specialty in snake and sound techniques. He eventually gained the status of a Sage within the Ryūchi Cave. During this time, he was regarded as Yazen the Snake Whisperer (蛇囁きの蛇禅, Hebi Sasayaki no Yazen). He was quickly put to use by the higher-ups of Otogakure's political chain, his actions as a reconnaissance agent eventually found out and, given the nature of the information acquired, he was sent to Hōzuki Castle. Recently, he has been released on a form of probation. He acts as a spy for the prison, reporting to Mukūrō about potential invasions or prisoners that must be apprehended.
