A Beam weapon satellite is a satellite version of the ship-board Asgard beam weapons which was developed by the Asgard prior to their extinction, the plans for which were stored in the computer core they installed onboard the Odyssey. Following the Battle of Earth the Tau'ri began to construct a defence network of these satellites to protect Earth, other prominent off-world bases, and later Nueva and Nova Britannia.
