Rust-Blight was a disease caused by bacteria in stagnant Deepwoods pools mentioned in Clash of the Sky Galleons. Maris wanted to drink water from a pond when her and Quint visited the Deepwoods, but Quint said it was too dangerous because it might have this disease or a similar disease called Spore-Worms.
