The Thistledews were another farming family of Breeland; their fields were somewhat smaller than those of the Heathertoes, but still impressive in scale. These two families were related through marriages too complicated to interest anyone but a Hobbit. Together with the Fernwoods, the Thistledews and Heathertoes pretty much ran Bree.Thistledew-Farm actually consisted of three substantial farms once built by three successful farmer brothers, each having large crews of children.All three were large, comfortable farmhouses, and combined holdings which spoke of fair wealth.
