Elmvale is located in northwestern Simcoe County. The fire department was a joint operation between the village and surrounding Township of Flos. In 1994, both Elmvale and Flos were amalgamated with Vespra Township to form the Township of Springwater. The fire department became Station 5 of Springwater Township Fire and Emergency Services.
