Howwood is a small Renfrewshire village 7 miles west of Paisley, near Glasgow. It is bordered to the east by Johnstone, to the north by Kilbarchan and to the west by Lochwinnoch. Housing in the area consists of council built cottage flats from the inter war period, some old cottages in the old village and post war private housing that are popular with commuters with good links to Glasgow via the A737/M8.
