Sree Yopal was a female Cardassian who lived in the 24th century. In the 2350s and 2360s, Yopal was the director of the Bajoran Institute of Science. In 2353, Yopal assigned Mora Pol to study Odo, then deemed an "unknown sample" that her friend Malyn Ocett had found years earlier in the Denorios Belt. At the same time, Yopal also assigned Daul Mirosha upgrade the artificial intelligence program at the Gallitep labor camp. Mora later demonstrated to Yopal that Odo was a sentient being. After Daul Mirosha was killed helping the Shakaar resistance cell liberate Gallitep in 2357, Yopal decided that Mora would not be allowed to leave the Institute, effectively making him a prisoner.
