On May 7, 2014 a new Hybrid Girls movie was announced. It was originally reported to be a reboot of Hybrid Girls and will be made by Lionsgate and Saban Brands. Executive Producer Roberto Orci has since said that "It's got a continuity within the world". However, he later left the project due to scheduling issues with Star Trek Beyond. The effects for the film will be done by Weta Workshop.
