The most striking feature of the JS20th is the three-dimensional inlaid representation of the Marvel comics character Silver Surfer on the guitar top. Silver Surfer also appeared on the cover of Satriani's Surfing with the Alien album. The JS20th features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. Components include an original Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, dual DiMarzio humbucking pickups and Gotoh tuning machines.
