This man was one of the many survivors of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. Shortly after the crash, he was enlisted by Jack Shephard to help free a man from underneath a piece of landing gear. Once the other man was free, this man helped Locke carry the man away to safety. Along the way, Locke stopped to warn another man to stay away from the plane's still-running engine turbine, only to see the man get sucked in, anyway causing the engine to explode.
