Elaine Whortleberry was the former wife of Steve Whortleberry. Their divorce came as he was completing his dissertation on Manfred of Sicily. This wasn't the whole reason for the divorce. He admitted that they were quite different in their tastes: she liked to be out doing things, and he was comfortable with staying home.
