Nishi Odori means "West Avenue". This is the partner of Higashi Odori, "East Avenue". This road goes down from Oho past the Public Works Research Institute and Tsukuba Memorial Hospital, then on down south past Gusto, Sato and Andersen towards National Institute of Environmental Studies (NIES) and the Meteorological Research Institute (MRI).
