The Pony Pickers resemble Jem and the Holograms from fellow Hasbro franchise Jem (which has in turn referenced My Little Pony characters including​[​specify​]​ Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer), with "Raspberry Fluff" corresponding to Kimber Benton, "Blueberry Pie" corresponding to Shana Elmsford, and "Strawberry Gem" corresponding to Jem/Jerrica Benton. "Strawberry Gem" is colored similarly to G3/G3.5 Pinkie Pie. Different versions were designed by Amy Mebberson in early 2012.
